Radio Snow FM is a contemporary hit music station covering the Snowy Mountains region of New South Wales, broadcasting in Jindabyne, Cooma, Thredbo, Perisher Valley, Charlotte Pass and Selwyn snowfields. The radio station has a target demographic of listeners aged 18 to 39 years, catering to the large number of tourists visiting nearby ski resorts.
Snow FM has been broadcasting on the FM band since February 1998. The station shares studios at Jindabyne alongside sister station XLFM, the region’s oldest commercial radio station that commenced operation as 2XL in 1937 catering to an older listener demographic. Along with the Snowy Mountains’ best music, Snow FM features local news and weather, winter road reports and snow reports during the peak snow season, typically from June through to August according to seasonal conditions.
Snow FM has an additional regional office in Cooma servicing the local community in the Monaro Plains area, gateway to the state’s alpine snowfields, and re-broadcasts into the nearby capital city of Canberra on DAB+ digital radio. Snow FM is owned and operated by the Capital Radio Network.
